Body, Energy, and Mind – one system
Your body, your energy, and your mind are the three core aspects of your being, and they constantly influence one another. In the Chinese Taoist tradition Andrew principally teaches from, energy – Qi – is what connects body and mind. When your energy is agitated or blocked, it shows up as tension in your body and nervous system, and as stress, worry, or low mood in your mind and emotions. Those, in turn, affect your energy. That loop is why problems that seem purely mental or purely physical so often keep coming back.
Over time, the same loop affects your physical health. In Chinese medicine, much ill health is understood to develop this way: ongoing stress and disturbed energy show up in the body as digestive problems, aches and pains, headaches, poor sleep, or exhaustion. Working with the whole system addresses these at their source, not only their symptoms.
Working with all three together breaks the loop. You learn to release tension where it’s actually held, settle your energy, and quiet your mind – through your posture, your breath, your gaze, and your awareness itself.
Much of this isn’t about learning something new. It’s about rediscovering something natural. As we grow older, most of us lose touch with our natural ease and accumulate tension without noticing. This work helps your body, energy, and mind work in harmony again, so that relaxing and releasing tension becomes a natural skill rather than an effort – and Presence becomes your more natural state.
Along the way, you come to understand how your own system works: why stress builds, why sleep or energy suffers, why the same issues keep returning. For many people, that understanding is a turning point in itself.
